Robert
Mallon is a retired land developer and a millionaire. While on
the beach one day, he spotted a young woman, Catherine Broward, who
walks into the water and disappears. Mallon kept waiting for
her to reappear but she did not. He jumped into the water and
rescues her. She was not entirely happy that he did but after
they talked for a while she goes home with him.
Mallon
decides to go out to get something for them to eat but when he
returned to his apartment, she was gone. A couple of days
later he was reading the paper and found that this same woman shot
herself. Mallon is now determined to find out why but finds
himself getting involved in many struggles. Mallon also had a
personal interest in finding out why the woman wanted to commit
suicide since his sister also killed herself. He now turns to
his friend and private detective Lydia Marks to help him find the
answer.
This is an excellent thriller and a real
page-turner. The book is full of suspense and keeps the reader
guessing. The plot is intriguing. The author has an
excellent writing style. This is a worthwhile book to
read.
