COLD PURSUIT - T. JEFFERSON PARKER

Pete Braga, an 84-year-old man, is found bludgeoned to death.  Tom McMichael is the homicide cop who is investigating the case.  These two men share a past.  Many years ago, Braga shot McMichael's grandfather in a fight over a paycheck.  It wasn't long after this shooting that Braga's son was severely beaten behind a waterfront bar.  Was this an act of revenge?

The first suspect in the case turns out to be Pete Braga's nurse.  She insisted that she went out to get some firewood when the murder took place.  Pete Braga gave his nurse many valuable items such as fine paintings.  Why would she want to murder him?

The investigation includes Braga's business and leads to many suspects which included Braga's family, the McMichael family and several others.

This is an excellent "whodunit mystery".  One moment you are almost sure it was the nurse who committed the murder, then you read a few more chapters and you feel it is someone else.  You will change your mind many times as this book will certainly keep you guessing.  This is a book you will want to add to your "must read" list.  T. Jefferson Parker has done an outstanding job of writing a book with a fast moving plot that will definitely keep you turning the pages.
