BOOK REVIEW

   THE PROTECTOR - DAVID MORRELL

Daniel Prescott, a scientist who created a drug that can addict any human being, hires Cavanaugh, a former member of the Delta Force, and his company.  Prescott claims he created the drug by accident - he was really doing research to find a cure for addiction.  Prescott wants to really "disappear" because a drug gang is after the formula he created.  This is Cavanaugh's job - The Protector.  His company, Global Protective Services, will provide not only protection but will help you disappear by giving you an untraceable identity.

Cavanaugh spends time training Prescott but the tables have turned - Cavanaugh's entire company is wiped out and it looks like Prescott was in on the killings.  Cavanaugh now has to fight against someone he trained.   Cavanaugh enlists the help of his wife, Jamie, to assist him.  They face severe danger along the way.  Does Cavanaugh get revenge?

This book would make a great movie.  There is plenty of action, car chases and sophisticated weapons.  It is obvious that David Morrell did an enormous amount of research to write this book.  The plot is complex with many twists and turns along the way leading to an exciting showdown.  Don't miss this one - there is not a dull page in the book!
