Calvin
Miller writes about the power of the Holy Spirit. This book is
divided into three parts.
Part I - The Symbols of the
Spirit which include, the wind, the fire and the oil.
Part II
- The Ministries of the Spirit - this section includes the
presence, the triumph, illumination of the word made print,
awakening and evangelism and counsel.
Part III - The Pleasure
of the Spirit which include grief, rapture, and union with
Christ.
What is really important is that Calvin Miller points
out the Holy Spirit is "The Source of Vitality for All Faith".
First he states that "The Holy Spirit comes upon those who hunger
for an affair with Christ. Second, The Holy Spirit prefers a
confessional and honest atmosphere. Third, he comes to those
who seek to yield to his love and demands."
In this
book, Calvin Miller gives us a guide we can follow to study the
mystery of the Holy Spirit. Even though the "Holy Spirit" is
mentioned several times throughout the Bible, how much do we
really
know about the Holy
Spirit? This book is an excellent place to start to learn
more. It is well written and provides real-life examples of a
spirit. This is also an excellent book for Bible discussion
groups.
