               WHY COURAGE  MATTERS:
THE WAY TO A  BRAVER LIFE - JOHN McCAIN

The book states that Winston Churchill defined "courage" as "the first of human qualities…because it guarantees all the others."  After reading this book by Senator John McCain, you will see many illustrations as to how much sense this statement makes.

John McCain writes about the courage of several people, some are famous, others are not.  Whether some of these people were well known or not, the one thing they all had in common was courage.  Senator McCain sums it up very well when he states "courage is not the absence of fear but the capacity for action despite our fears."

As you read each chapter, you will find the stories very moving.  Senator McCain has done an outstanding job of writing the story of each person so that the memory will stay with you for a long time.  You will see how each of these individuals had the courage to not worry about their own welfare but to put the needs of others first.    Another attribute these people all had in common was "commitment".

This is a compelling book to read and one you should buy.  You will not regret it!
