BOOK REVIEW

LAND OF THE LIVING - NICCI FRENCH

Abbie Devereaux is kidnapped, gagged and held in an airless shed by an unknown assailant.  She is terrorized and abused by this man as he mentions the names of other victims.

Abbie manages to survive and escape; however, this is when the real nightmare begins because no one will believe what happened to her.  Abbie tries to reconstruct her life and find out what really happened to her.  The scariest thing is knowing that the kidnapper knows her but, of course, she doesn't know him.

This is a terrific psychological thriller.  Nicci French draws the reader in from page one and doesn't let you go.  The writer does an excellent job of describing the ordeal while kidnapped and makes the reader feel like they are there with the victim.  If you like suspense, this book is for you.  You won't fall asleep reading this one - if anything, it will keep you awake all night!
