This
book is volume one of the Malazan Book of the Fallen.
The
Malazan Empire is filled with discontent due to warfare and
confrontations with the Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii.
Yet, with all these problems, Empress Laseen's rule remains absolute
mainly because her Claw assassins enforce it.
What other
problems are brewing for the Malazan Empire? Believe me, there
are many!
