BOOK REVIEW

GARDENS OF THE MOON - STEVEN ERIKSON

This book is volume one of the Malazan Book of the Fallen.

The Malazan Empire is filled with discontent due to warfare and confrontations with the Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii.  Yet, with all these problems, Empress Laseen's rule remains absolute mainly because her Claw assassins enforce it.

What other problems are brewing for the Malazan Empire?  Believe me, there are many!

When you first start to read this book, it will take some concentration to get used to the names.  However, to help you, there is a section at the beginning of the book that gives you some information to use as a guide.

This book is complex with many subplots.  The storyline is intriguing and will really make you do some thinking.  Your imagination will really play an important role while reading this book.  The plot is fast paced with plenty of action.  The battles are exciting and will feel real to the reader.

There will be a total of ten books published in this series.  The good thing is each book can be read by itself.  However, after reading one you will surely want to go on and read the other nine.

Steven Erikson has created a magical epic fantasy.  Science fictions fans will love this series.
