   MAYBE BABY - TENAYA DARLINGTON

Rusty and Judy Glide raised three children.  However, things didn't go quite as expected.  At age 15, Henry was stealing Playboy from the drugstore and rolling his own cigarettes.  Carson left home one day without a word.  He occasionally sent a message to his parents indicating he would stop by but he did not return.  Then, there was Gretchen.  Gretchen had a "strange" boyfriend.

Judy was excited to learn that Gretchen and her boyfriend, Ray were expecting their first child.  Much to Judy's dismay, Gretchen announced that she and Ray decided to raise a gender-neutral baby.

Judy tried to decide what she would tell her friends when the baby arrived.  After all, the first question is always "Is it a boy or girl?"  Should she be silent and maybe people would forget about the birth?  She didn't even want to mention that the baby's clothes were not pink or blue but black.  Judy hoped this was a fad and Gretchen would abandon this idea sooner or later.

This really is some predicament for the future grandparents!  What happens?

This is Tenaya Darlington's debut novel.  If you are looking for a good laugh, read this book.  The characters are funny and so is the dialogue.  It almost makes you feel like you are reading a futuristic novel of some sort.  Of course you really shouldn't take it too seriously but who knows!  If you want to sit back, relax, and laugh, this is a great read!
