This
story revolves around three police officers, William Rayford,
Rocksburg's first African-American cop, Robert Canoza and James
Reseta. One of the most dreaded assignments for these police
officers is to work the evening shift in a part of town known as the
Flats. The smallest or silliest incident could set the
neighbors "off" with certain behaviors like fighting about parking
spaces and dog droppings. These flare ups would often become a
dangerous situation.
The book follows these men through their
dealings with the people of the Flats and also touches on personal
problems within their own lives.
This is an adventuresome
book. There is plenty of action. The writer does a
superb job with his writing style and characterizations. The
details are graphic and will stay with you for a long time.
The characters are unforgettable. This is one you should
add to your book collection.
