Henry Pierce, a high tech entrepreneur involved in experimental molecular computing, split with his girlfriend.  He moves into a new apartment and soon starts to receive telephone calls for the person who had the number before it was assigned to him.  It doesn't take him long to figure out that the person is Lily and she is a prostitute. Pierce really believes he should just call the phone company and get the number changed but deep down inside he couldn't do it due to the fact that there were similarities between Lily and Pierce's sister who was also a prostitute.  He believed that Lily was in some kind of trouble and he used his computer technology to try and track her down.  Pierce's curiosity takes him on a path where he will meet danger and find conflict with the law trying to save a woman he never met.

If you are looking for a great thriller this is it!  Michael Connelly does an excellent job.  This book is loaded with suspense.  It is a book that will hold you captive until you read through the very last page.  Be prepared to stay up all night until you finish the book!  If you don't read another book this year, you must read this one!
