Hitchcock Sewell is an undertaker. His former
girlfriend, Libby, has come to town. She enlists the help
of Hitch to help find her nanny who disappeared. As Hitch
starts to investigate, the nanny is discovered. Her body is
found in the river and it appears she was pregnant. Libby
informs Hitch that her husband recently beat her. Could
Libby's husband be responsible for the nanny's death?
The police seem to believe the case is a suicide; however,
the nanny's mother doesn't believe this - she is sure it was
murder. Hitch runs into many questions as he begins his
investigation.
This is the fourth installment in the
hearse mystery series. The author does a great job of
describing Hitch. He is a very likeable character loaded with
humor and wit. This is an excellent book for anyone who likes
to read a good fun-loving mystery. We look forward to the next
installment of Hitchcock Sewell.
