Zachary Beck is a kingpin in the drug trade.  The book begins with Jack Reacher rescuing Beck's son, Richard, from a staged kidnapping.  Reacher manages to take the young man back to his home.  However, Reacher feels there is something strange going on at the boy's residence.  The Beck's estate is isolated and guarded. 

To make matters more interesting, Richard's father is involved with a person who killed Reacher's girlfriend ten years ago.  However, Reacher believed he killed this person.  Reacher now has business to finish.

Reacher is hired as a bodyguard and begins to "check out" the estate.  What does he find?

The book is fast paced and has plenty of action.  Lee Child is a master at creating high tension throughout the book.  Jack Reacher fans should run out and buy this one.  The plot will engross you.  The Persuader is a real thriller and one you don't want to miss.
