Lucy
Carelton comes from a very wealthy family. Her husband is a
very successful stockbroker. It seems that Lucy has not been
acting right lately - she has fits of anger. Is it her
nerves? Her husband is concerned only because she is not
performing her social obligations without falling apart. This
is not the "perfect wife" he wants. As a result, he keeps
taking her to different doctors. One of them, Dr. Little,
recommended that Lucy be placed in an asylum!
A new doctor
has arrived in New York City, Victor Seth. He is a doctor of
neurology. He is also a hypnotist. At first, Lucy is
hesitant about seeing this doctor. She doesn't like the way he
looks at her. She finally agrees hoping that he is the answer
to her problems.
Is Dr. Seth the answer? What is in
store for Lucy? How does he change her?
An Inconvenient
Wife is an excellent psychological, historical book. Megan
Chance does a great job of portraying a woman in this time period
when she was forced to be obedient and let go of her dreams.
The author does an excellent job of making you feel that you are
part of the story. You will feel sympathy and compassion for
Lucy. Megan Chance has done an extraordinary job of creating
the complex character of Lucy. She is one that will be
unforgettable for some time. This is one you will want to
read! Historical fans will love it.
