Congressman Robert Shapply has really turned himself
around. He made millions from his former clients when he was a
music insider. Now he is on the other side and is the main leader in
a campaign against offensive rap lyrics.
One evening, his
chauffeur dropped him off at his residence. As the car pulled
away Shapply could hear the increase in volume of the limo's
stereo. This was exactly the type of music he and his wife
were trying to have banned. As the congressman started to walk
up the steps he stumbled over something. As he tried to get
up, he felt the barrel of a gun pressed against his head. He
was kicked violently several times and then he heard a voice say,
"There has to be some suffering. In just a minute now I'll put
you out of your misery". Even in severe pain, he recognized
the voice. The gun went off and he heard no more.
Who killed Congressman Shapply? What was the
Congressman's secret about Barbados? Was someone going to
expose him?
There were many people who had motives.
Much to everyone's surprise the congressman's son, Nick, was
arrested and charged with the murder. Nick's best friend, Mick
Sever who is a music journalist, agreed to help. Mick enlisted
the help of his ex-wife, Ginny, and another friend T-Beau.
Mick believes Nick is innocent but he knew it wasn't going to be
easy to prove.
The investigation takes Mick through a
path of danger. Does he find who killed the
Congressman?
This book is a fast paced, definite
page-turner. Don Bruns does an excellent job of portraying his
characters with vivid details. The reader is drawn in from the
beginning and kept there throughout the book. Be prepared for
a surprise ending. Buy this book. You will be glad you
did!
