THE DOCTOR'S WIFE - ELIZABETH BRUNDAGE

Everything seems perfect.  In fact too perfect!  What more could this family want?  Michael is an OB/GYN at a prominent hospital; his wife, Annie, teaches writing at a local college.  They have two great kids and a nice house in upstate New York.

There seems to be a problem.  Annie is getting a little tired of being the doctor's wife.  Her husband is never home and when he does arrive, he is always getting paged to return to the hospital.

Maybe that is why Annie decided to have an affair with Simon who is also married.  To make matters more interesting, Simon's wife, Lydia, has problems of her own including secrets in her past.

Michael gets involved with an old girlfriend whom he helps out at the local women's health clinic.  Another problem - this is the city's only provider of abortions.

The pace gets more thrilling when the Knowles start to receive threats at their home.  Are the threats being made against Michael because of what he is doing?  Are they meant for Annie because of her involvement with Simon?  Could it be Simon's disturbed wife is doing this to get even with Annie?

This is Elizabeth Brundage's first novel and what an impressive job she has done!  This is an excellent psychological thriller.  The characters are interesting and complex and the plot is exciting.  I could not put this book down.  This is one that is highly recommended.  We look forward to more books by this author.
