WHO? Three young females…WHAT? Gone missing…WHEN? Two weeks ago…WHERE?…Small Oklahoma town…WHY? • A private detective suspects kidnapping for a specific devious purpose and complains to the local newspaper about a news cover-up.
• A feminist editor, new in town, puts out a story suggesting that members of the Odd Fellows “frat” are likely involved in abduction of the three “coeds.”
• A veteran journalist comes to town and in defense of the Odd Fellows writes an article casting suspicion on illegal immigrants from Mexico.
• An ambitious reporter for a big city television station picks up the story and airs an even more speculative version of the few known facts.
• Pilot for an on-site reality TV show morphs from Beauty Parlor Gossip into a news documentary: Where, Oh Where Have the Three Little Kittens Gone? Thankfully, Henrietta, dauntless newshawk in the mold of the legendary Nellie Bly, returns to her little ol’ hometown to sort it all out.
