Who Got Liz Gardner by Elizabeth Allen
Reviewed by Julie Moderson
Liz is a married financial advisor who logs onto a chat room and finds her former lovers discussing her. It turns into a diary of Liz’s life and pulls you in because you feel like you are secretly reading someone’s diary and it is a good diary with lots of very interesting things in it. She tells details of her sex life and sexual escapades and many dysfunctional relationships. The chat room asks who got Liz Gardner and it sends her down a path of remembering the past and will she turn into her mother.
Everyone who comes from a dysfunctional family worries about the same thing. Her honesty about her life is refreshing and her story of coming of age seems so real you want to be her friend and help straighten her out. You don’t want to like Liz but you just have to love her. I love her dog, Marlena and you completely understand the roommate because who hasn’t had a roommate like Lyta. It is a very funny book that you will want to share with your friends.
